Overall Job Description

Plans, organizes, directs, and controls project activities required for effective management of installation projects. Supervises installation labor and sub-contractors. Estimates, prices and processes job change orders. Works with job cost, management reports and tools to define project problems to assure project profitability. Is responsible for the quality of installation according to customer requirements and D/A Central’s standards 

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the Director of Operations or the Branch Operations Manager 

Principal Duties

  •  Conducts the site validation of the scope of work meeting with the customer 
  • Works with engineering department on design and drafting phases of jobs, maintains current job plans and specifications 
  • Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies and services, to assure timely delivery to job site 
  • Maintains construction schedule and coordinates task scheduling with other trades 
  • Establishes accountability and chain of command with D/A field staff and provides clear and concise instruction 
  • Maintains all records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records and provides up-to-date information for the preparation and processing of reports for internal and external use 
  • Assist as directed in the estimating of projects the company is bidding 
  • Meet and communicate with selected key accounts to manage projects quoted and deliver project status updates
  • Walks job site to ensure quality installation 
  • Responsible for all communication to customer, including significant changes, throughout the life of the project and ensures customer satisfaction 
  • Ensures that all areas of customer contract or purchase order terms and conditions or requirements are met, including specified timelines or deadlines for completion 
  • Responsible for weekly status reports on schedule and job status and assists management in monthly forecasting
  • Devises a plan of action to remedy problems and implements plan; all to assure project profitability 
  • Ensures proper job management and cost control by reviewing job cost reports 
  • Responsible for completion of all paperwork, sees that Pos are all completed, that Notice of Completions (NOC) is signed by the customer, and jobs are turned over service in good order 
  • Responsible for satisfactory customer training of each installed system and oversee production of all training and operators’ manuals for the equipment of the project 
  • Responsible for the preparation of data required for monthly job billing prior to job specified cutoff dates, inclusive of preparation of AIA drafts to obtain customer approval of final invoicing 
  • Ensure job is 100% billed and paid by customer 
  • Job completion form is completed and signed by the customer including warranty dates for start and end of warranty periods. 
  • Works with installers on security concepts, installation procedures and product training for their advancement, especially when new equipment is introduced for installation 

Job Requirements & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience with D/A or equivalent organization in relevant operations role 
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred.

Overall Job Description

The basic function of the Estimator is to provide technically accurate solutions and job cost estimates for outside sales. The Estimator provides assistance in preparation of proposals in terms of responding to specifications and design. Estimator may also be assigned certain accounts to support as inside sales, either independently or in conjunction with outside sales (OS). 

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the Director of Operations but receives input and priorities from the Systems Sales Specialist or Account Manager 

Principal Duties

  • Providing thorough cost estimates to the Sales Department that result in pricing jobs that achieve Company profitability standards and competitiveness.
  • Accurately design the systems as defined in the scope of work and assure the proper equipment and resources are proscribed for the job.
  • Assist the salesman in presentation to customer either in concepts, writing or in person.
  • Provide needed sales input to solve problems that would prevent jobs from timely completion.
  • Monitor actual job cost against estimates and look for opportunities to reduce costs and/or improve profitability.
  • Assist in workshops and other marketing functions with technical and other support.
  • Furnishes job cost estimates for material, labor and overhead factors to sales in a timely manner to ensure that Customer’s deadline for receiving a quote is met.
  • Interacts with all departments and personnel to obtain the data to accurately determine material and manpower requirements. Quoting process may require a visit to the job site on more involved jobs and meetings with customers to clarify scope and design.
  • Set up the Job Review Folder (Green Folder) and/or Service CEO will all required information necessary for an accurate review of the proposed solution. Obtains necessary sign-offs of jobs before releasing to OS for presentation to customer.
  • Attends regularly scheduled production meetings with Engineering and Operations to determine if quoting and job processes are on target.
  • Keeps abreast of technology and product innovations by interacting with vendors and technical staff. Participating in selection of Company product standards and their implementation.
  • Reviews, with operations, actual labor, equipment and material costs against estimated costs paying particular attention to identifying and determining the cause of overruns for all completed jobs; brings significant overruns to Management’s attention so that they can be addressed.
  • Assist with change orders as requested, by determining the needed equipment, costs and labor requirements.

Job Requirements & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with D/A or equivalent organization planning, installing and/or training of programmed electronic surveillance and/or alarm systems preferably in a planning or management role.
  • Minimum 2 years’ electronic or equivalent technical diploma. Continued education and learning in related knowledge.

  • Above average mathematics skills preferred. Basic arithmetic, algebra and measuring required. 
  • Proficiency in communicating orally and in writing in English

  • Customer satisfaction as measured by jobs completed on time against planned benchmarks. 
  • Efficiency of installation teams measured by delays or confusion on the job due to material/equipment shortages and incorrect or missing information. 
  • Profitability of Jobs Completed measured by profit margin achieved in pricing and actual cost vs. estimated job cost. 
  • Professionalism in dealings with customers, managers, and fellow employees. 
  • Quality of direct Operations/Sales support as evidenced by the completeness of Job Cost Estimates and Planning furnished. 
  • Accuracy of estimations as evidenced in not having product or design – related Change Orders other than those initiated by the client.
  • Willingness and competency in handling special assignments and projects.

Overall Job Description

The primary duty of this position will be to perform installation, programming, and troubleshooting of commercials and industrial, security, video, and integrated access control systems of assigned projects.

Reporting Relationship

Reports to the Technical Resource Manager

Principal Duties

  • Becomes familiar with the products and local codes for proper implementation of assigned projects
  • Makes connections and required adjustments per job documentation and blueprints
  • Tests operation of all components to establishes proper system function.
  • Documents all labels and connections if changed from job documentation for As-Builts.
  • Commissions project with Project Manager and customer to ensure system operation and customer satisfaction.
  • Promptly reports defective material or equipment, inaccuracies or omissions in job information that may result in inadequate protection of a customer location.
  • Ensures each job assigned is responded to in a timely manner as specified by project documentation and directed by Project Manager
  • Assists in training and developing other technicians in their skills.
  • Maintains and accounts for all stock in company vehicles, including semi-annual inventory reports.
  • Maintains Q360 Tasks and work hours, daily, to account for time worked and miles traveled. Submits Time Bills daily.
  • Properly completes all required project field documentation in cooperation with Project Manager. Promptly returning documentation to assigned Project Manager.

Job Requirements & Experience

  • 4 years’ experience with D/A or equivalent organization in relevant installation or service role
  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required.
  • CDL Class B License Preferred

  • Jobs assigned are consistently completed on time and on budget with complete customer satisfaction.
  • Personal attendance is prompt and time off does not exceed Paid Time Off (PTO) time available.
  • All field documentation and reports are completed and turned in within one day of completion.
  • Route Sheets are accurately completed and submitted every Monday morning.
